Knit Shop

Who We Are

Knit Shop may be new, but its core team brings together years of accumulated knowledge and expertise across design, manufacture and project management.

Committed to the revival of the Scottish textile industry, their mission is to share and nurture skills, create opportunities for employment, and encourage creativity and innovation within the sector.

Donna Wilson - The Knit Shop

Donna Wilson, Owner & Creative Director

Donna Wilson is an award-winning Scottish textile and product designer with 20 years’ experience of brand building, designing, manufacturing, marketing, selling and shipping her work across the world. Having established her one-woman studio in London in 2003, she now employs eight full-time staff.

Donna has collaborated with renowned retailers and brands including Hermes, LeSportsac, Mamas & Papas and the V&A Museums, and her work has been exhibited around the world. Her colourful, distinctive designs, inspired by a love of nature and a life-long love for craft and making, have won her a string of awards including Elle Decoration’s Designer of the Year.

As a forerunner of the contemporary craft movement, Donna has always remained true to her principles, using traditional techniques and locally based suppliers wherever possible. Knit Shop is a natural next step for her, enabling her to oversee production of her own designs, while investing in the regeneration of the Scottish textile industry.

Erin Campbell, Studio & Production Manager

With over a decade of studio and production management experience with the creative industries, Erin has worked with designers including Tom Pigeon and Donna Wilson, managing a multitude of international projects.

A freelance knitwear designer and illustrator in her own right, she graduated from the University of Dundee with First Class Honours in Textile Design, and her illustration portfolio includes work for Donna Wilson and Alain de Botton’s The School of Life.

A long-time resident of Dundee, Erin has well-established links with local institutions and industry, including Abertay University and the V&A Dundee.
